Motivational interviewing
Explore what matters to you and what makes change difficult, without judgment. Treatment builds on your own reasons for recovery rather than someone else’s expectations.
Addiction treatment · Partial hospitalization
Early recovery takes more than the decision to stop. Our addiction PHP gives you a structured weekday to build recovery skills, address the challenges around substance use and connect with support that continues after treatment.
Care with a longer view
Cravings, disrupted routines, strained relationships and practical setbacks can all make early recovery harder. Partial hospitalization creates a consistent place to work through those challenges while you continue living outside the program.
At Recover & Develop, addiction treatment and case management work together. Therapy addresses the patterns behind substance use. Care coordination helps connect that progress with ongoing clinicians, recovery supports and realistic next steps. Both matter when you return to everyday life.
An assessment determines the right level of care. PHP and IOP do not provide overnight monitoring or emergency stabilization.
Need more support than outpatient care?
Partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs do not provide overnight monitoring, supervised medical withdrawal or emergency stabilization. If you or someone you love may need 24-hour support, tell our team what is happening. We can talk through what you need and help point you toward a setting that fits, including a more intensive level of care.
In immediate danger or a medical emergency, call 911. For suicide and crisis support, call or text 988. R&D Centers is not an emergency service.
Many proven therapies, one plan. Your clinician combines the approaches below into an individual plan built around your goals and your life.
The treatment day
Addiction PHP meets five weekdays for six hours per day. Treatment includes clinical work, recovery skill building and planning for continued care. Admissions confirms start times and discusses whether outpatient treatment is safe for you.
Explore triggers, cravings and the situations that have kept substance use going. Connect those patterns with mood, relationships and your own goals for recovery.
Practice relapse prevention, coping skills and communication. Plan for the hours outside treatment, when familiar people, places or feelings may test your progress.
Identify recovery connections, follow-up clinicians and practical needs. With consent, coordinate with the people who will support you through PHP and into the next level of care.
Coordinated care while you are here
Treatment goes easier when the practical side is not on your shoulders. Case management works alongside your clinical team during the program, keeping providers, paperwork, appointments and family contacts connected so your time in session stays where it belongs.
01
You have a named person who keeps track of your schedule, providers and paperwork, so questions do not have to bounce between offices while you are in the program.
02
With your written authorization, we coordinate with your therapist, primary care doctor or psychiatrist, so everyone involved works from the same plan.
03
Transportation, scheduling conflicts, benefits questions and referrals are handled as part of treatment, not left for you to solve between sessions.
04
Your plan is reviewed with your team on a regular basis, so goals, sessions and outside appointments reflect where you are now, not where you started.
Your privacy comes first. Information sharing follows your authorization and applicable confidentiality requirements. Referrals and outside appointments depend on provider availability.
Working with your care team How case management worksLeave, job protection and income
If you are eligible for leave under the Family and Medical Leave Act, or for income through a short-term disability policy, case management handles the forms, the reminders and the communication with your employer or carrier so you can focus on getting better.
Leave requests usually need clinical details, dates and provider signatures. Case management completes what falls to us and tracks the follow-up so nothing sits unfinished.
A disability policy usually asks your treating clinician to describe the condition, the expected duration of care and any limits on working. Case management prepares what falls to us, notes what the carrier still needs and tracks each deadline so a certification is not filed late.
With your written authorization, we answer HR, leave administrators or benefit carriers directly, so requests reach the office instead of interrupting your session.
Attendance records and treatment updates support your leave request, and the same coordination helps stage your return to work around the care you still need.
FMLA eligibility, approved leave and short-term disability benefits depend on your employer, your policy and your situation. We complete the documentation we are able to provide and cannot determine your benefits or guarantee approval. Ask about leave and disability paperwork
Therapy with purpose
Treatment draws on evidence-based and whole-person approaches. Your clinician helps select the methods that fit your goals, symptoms and stage of recovery.
Explore what matters to you and what makes change difficult, without judgment. Treatment builds on your own reasons for recovery rather than someone else’s expectations.
Identify triggers, cravings and the thinking patterns that keep substance use going. Practice coping responses and make a plan for high-risk situations before they happen.
Work on personal concerns in individual sessions and develop accountability, communication and connection in group treatment. Recovery needs both insight and practice.
Learn to tolerate distress, regulate emotions and pause before acting on an urge. Mindfulness and whole-person therapies complement the clinical work.
Psychiatric medication management and medication-assisted treatment for substance use may support care when clinically appropriate. Review prescriptions, response and follow-up needs with the team. Outpatient care is not a substitute for supervised detox.
Practice routines, communication, boundaries and stress management. With your permission, family involvement can help supportive people understand your needs and the role they can play during and after treatment.
Conditions we treat
A diagnosis alone does not determine admission. The assessment considers your symptoms, safety, functioning and support needs to decide whether this program is appropriate.
Case management and aftercare
When daily intensive support is no longer the right level of care, addiction IOP can help you keep momentum while taking on more everyday responsibilities. The transition should include a relapse-prevention plan, ongoing clinical care, recovery connections and medication follow-up if relevant. Your team reviews readiness with you rather than treating step-down as an automatic deadline.
Case management ties appointments, providers, medication follow-up and paperwork together, so nothing gets lost between levels of care or after your last day of treatment.
Work, school, family and daily routines are part of the plan. Before you step down, your plan fits the schedule and responsibilities you are returning to.
From outpatient providers and recovery groups to benefits, employment and community services, case management points you toward resources that match your needs and stay reachable after treatment.
Local care. Continuing connection.
R&D Centers welcomes individuals and families from Delaware County and nearby communities. Staying connected to local care can help make follow-up, familiar support systems and the transition back to daily life part of your treatment plan.

Call (484) 779-1816PHP is not medical detox or 24-hour withdrawal monitoring. Alcohol and benzodiazepine withdrawal can be dangerous. If you may need supervised withdrawal care, contact the team to discuss an appropriate placement before starting outpatient treatment. Severe symptoms or an emergency require immediate medical care.
Medication-assisted treatment may be considered when clinically appropriate, alongside therapy and recovery support. Tell the team about current prescriptions and prescribers so medication needs can be discussed and coordinated.
Tell the team promptly so safety and treatment needs can be reassessed without hiding what happened. The next step may involve adjusting your plan or considering a different level of care.
R&D Center is in network with most plans. Our admissions team verifies your individual coverage for addiction PHP, authorization requirements and expected out-of-pocket costs before you start. Benefits vary by plan, and in-network status does not mean treatment has no cost or that every service is covered.
Addiction PHP runs Monday through Friday for six hours per day. Admissions confirms daily start times before you begin. The number of weeks depends on your assessed needs and progress, not an automatic discharge deadline. When clinically appropriate, the team coordinates step-down to addiction IOP with your recovery and follow-up plan.
Ask admissions about current virtual care options across Pennsylvania and whether they are available for your recommended level of care. A virtual PHP option should not be assumed. The team reviews clinical appropriateness, safety, attendance requirements and insurance coverage before recommending a format.
Call admissions or submit an insurance verification request. The team reviews recent substance use, withdrawal concerns, treatment history and coverage, then arranges an assessment. If PHP is appropriate and a place is available, you review your schedule and first-day expectations. If you need detox or another higher level of care first, the team helps coordinate a referral.
The six-hour weekday commitment may require time away from work. Case management is included at no extra charge and helps coordinate treatment documentation, deadlines and authorized communication with your employer or carrier. Your employer determines leave eligibility and approval, and your carrier determines disability benefits under your policy. Treatment participation does not guarantee either benefit.
If you are in immediate danger or experiencing a medical emergency, call 911. For mental health crisis support, call or text 988.
