Going to alcohol rehab or a formal drug addiction treatment program is a major life decision. If you’re currently battling substance use disorder (SUD) or alcohol use disorder (AUD), it’s the first and most important step in reclaiming your freedom. However, you don’t necessarily have to put everything on hold. The following are several reasons to consider enrolling in a program at a Media PA outpatient drug addiction treatment center.

Outpatient treatment is designed to help people get the support they need without forcing them to take breaks from work or school and while allowing them to continue being present for their families. There are lots of people who put addiction treatment on hold simply because they’re afraid of letting people down or losing their standing in their professional lives or academic careers. Many functional addicts work hard to maintain all outward appearances of normalcy, even though they’re falling apart on the inside.

Our intensive outpatient programs (IOPs), are just as intensive as standard inpatient programs. Rather than spending all of your time on a closed, secure campus, you can participate in group and individual therapy, stress management workshops, skill-building activities, and other services during times that are convenient to you. Each level of rehab has a different requirement for time commitment. For IOPs, our patients agree to spend 30 or more hours onsite each week. Basic outpatient programs require commitments as low as six to 12 hours.

Much like inpatient treatment, our IOPs and standard outpatient programs (OP) provide access to dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and many other therapy types. We help our patients build solid foundations for sobriety by teaching them new, healthy coping skills and helping them better understand the nature of addiction. We also provide resources for ensuring ongoing, lifelong support so that the likelihood of relapse is greatly minimized.

Addiction recovery can look vastly different from person to person. Although inpatient treatment that lasts at least three months is considered the gold standard in rehab, IOPs can be just as effective. If you’ve struggled with completing an inpatient program before but still want help getting on the path to recovery and staying there, we have plenty of seamless, end-to-end solutions available. From managed detox services to relapse prevention, we can help you arrive at a program that’s streamlined to suit your needs and flexible enough to accommodate your non-negotiable, ongoing responsibilities.
